Start up software to get into producing your own music

I'm going to compose a list here of software that will be helpfull in getting you on your way to writing your own music on your computer.

First up I will include my most used software, DAW's and VST's.
I will also post up some of the other software other people find popular.
If there is demo's too, I will post links to them, Just click on the name of the software to get the demo.
It's up to you to find the "full version's" so dont ask!!

Ableton Live 8 for PC & for Mac.
Native Instruments Massive for PC & for Mac.
Ohmforce Predatohm for PC.
Ohmforce Ohmboyz for PC.
Roland Edirol HQ Home Orchestra for PC.
Native Instruments Reaktor 5 for PC & for Mac.

If you haven't got yourself a pro asio soundcard yet, You can grab yourself this driver software which emulates the software on professional audio soundcards: Asio4all. It will be better than your current driver.

Other popular DAW's on the market are:

Propellerheads Reason for PC & for Mac
Logic Pro 9 for Mac.
Renoise
Pro Tools (More for analog).
Acid Pro
FL Studio (The DAW previously known as fruityloops) for PC.

Logic Pro is meant to be amazing with the new quantize functions in 9, There beat mapping and time stretching is second to none also.

Though i'm thick headed, Think I will stick with Ableton Live.
